Its a short hop to Port Washington, a very useful place to be. Free moorings, most facilities within easy walking distance and a good train service into Manhattan. We had intended to stay just one night, but there's lots of familiar boats here and we end up staying for five!
Our main reason for going into Manhattan was B and H,( the 'Disney World' for photographers!) to buy THE camera. As luck would have it, we met Scott and Mary of Egret on the dinghy dock, and they were going to B and H too! They were able to give me the benefit of their vast photography equipment purchasing experiences (which probably saved Bob lots of money).
Two days later we venture into Manhattan again, meeting up with Jen and Robbie, and Ali and Richard from Vulcan Spirit.
After supper at The Hard Rock Cafe. we all set off to 'Zarkana' Cirque Du Soleil, to see if we can pick up any tips. . . .Of course we're already dab hand at swinging from one end of the boat to the other, with or without ropes. . .but the superhuman performances we witnessed that night were truelly inspiring.
After along day and late night,(and a camera instruction manual to read) Bob managed to sneak past me the fact that we had just set off on an overnighter. . ..
