Its a relief to sail away from the hubbub to valley Cove, a beautiful anchorage beneath a towering cliff, half way along Soames Sound, the only fjord on the east coast.
But as the wind starts to whip up, Bob reminds me of something he had just read in 'Storm Tactics'; that its much better to take shelter behind low ground than high ground. . . . .
The tide range is about 3 metres here, a bit like home, as the water disappears i'm relieved we didn't anchor any closer to shore, which seems to be getting closer by the minute. . . . . I can sense another nights disturbed sleep!
