At last we escape to Norfolk, situated at Mile Zero, the official beginning of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. It is also home to the largest naval installation in the world and worlds merchant fleet loads and unloads its cargo here. It is all together a busy place! This is new ground for us as it is south of Hampton, our original landfall in the US. We pitch up at Greta and Garys for the night before heading . Alexes is also here, so a another jolly night was had by all!!! Greta miraculously whizzed up OCC Mawari polo shirts for us ( the first thing we have ever had with Mawari embroidered on it!) and a beautiful new burgee. Beverly drove all the way from Hampton to deliver our parcels which enabled us to set off the following afternoon.
