After the Palma Regatta it was time to start our trip towards the Canary Islands for the start of our Atlantic crossing. We left Palma on Monday night 9th of October after a good dinner at the Club. In the crew were Ulf and Anita Nordenson, Torbjorn Nilo and Ann and Eric. We sailed downwind for a couple of hours in the moonshine, and then we had to start the engine and motored over to Formentera . We took a bouy in Cala Espalmador and had to pay 60€ for six hours ! We had a great day there relaxing after the hectic regatta. Nice with a swim in the 26 C water !

We continued in the afternoon towards Cartagena where we arrived in the afternoon of the 11th.  In the evening we watched TV in the boat and had the best take-away Pizzas we´ve had in Spain ! The following day was grey and rainy so we took a layday and just relaxed.

On the 13th we had the wind on the nose and sailed for a while but decided it was no fun and stopped in Aguilas. After a walk to the castle Ulf treated us with a really good chicken filet dinner.

The following day we set course on Puerto Banus outside Marbella where we arrived on the 15th and got a berth in this very expensive marina full of exclusive boutiques and bars. Anita and Ulf left us on Monday morning. On Tuesday Ann left as well. But unfortunately she had an accident when the passarelle collapsed and she fell in the water and hurt herself !!

After this unfortunate incident Torbjorn and the Skipper sailed to Gibraltar and got a berth in Ocean Village Marina to meet with our new crew for the trip down to the Canaries.
