39:08.82N 08:18.54E Carloforte Sardinia
Sunday June 28 We left Ibiza Town and spent another night at anchor near Formentera. At 07.00 on Thursday morning we pulled up the anchor and set course on Sardinia 320 NM to the east. The crossing was fine, not a cloud on the sky but unfortunately not enough wind so we had to motor quite a lot. The crew spent the time sunbathing and playing cards, Hearts mostly. Rickard dominated the game at first until all the others ganged up on him and changed his luck. We stopped a couple of times every day for a swim in the clear blue 2000 m deep sea. Towards the end of the crossing the wind came and we got a great sail to the Island San Pietro just W of Sardinia where we arrived in the main town Carloforte on Saturday afternoon after almost 2 ½ days at sea. Of course there was a fiesta there as well. We had a great Saturday night in the pretty town and on Sunday we rented “electric” bikes and made a tour around the southern part of the island. There were some nice beaches where we could swim and have lunch. |
