June 13 Ocean Village Marina Gibraltar

We had a great sail down to Gibraltar. At first we had weak winds and motored for a while but after rounding Cabo San Vicente the wind picked up and we could set the gennaker. We had dream sailing over Gulf of Cadiz in an increasingly hot sun. Jonas was fighting with a 55 feet catamaran and was very pleased when we left him behind. We gybed round Tarifa in the early morning and could see the “Rock” in the early sunrice. At 07.00 we moored at the fuel station and slept for an hour before they opened and we could fill our tanks with tax-free diesel and go to Marina Village where we got a nice longside berth.  Some of the crew are now doing the Tour of Gibraltar. We plan to stay here only one night and then go to Estepona in Spain tomorrow.
