Hey even in August....the wind blows, sometimes too much.

With a forecast for stronger southerlies we could see that we couldn't sail directly south to Corsica so we decided to transit in the protected lee of the North coast of Elba before anchoring in Seccheto bay SW coast for a calm night.

At 06.00 hrs, on 22nd an unearthly hour if you ask me.....in my usual comatose state we started the 72 nm sail SW to Corsica. The early start gave us time for a plan A and Plan B anchorage before dark.

Our first 6 hours were fab with the wind now NE and Tioram skipping along at 6/8 knots in a slightly rolly sea.

The final 4 hours of the 12 hour sail turned to motoring in light winds.

Finally we anchored in Ciprianu for the night, a bay we know well.

We were rewarded with a wonderful calm evening and overnight.
