At 11.00 hrs on 29th June we lifted anchor to sail the 47 n miles east across the surprisingly wide Golfo di Cagliari to a bay called Cabo Carbonara. The beach at Cabo Carbonara is stunning, incredibly clear turquoise water and a lovely anchorage on the south east tip of Sardinia from which to start the sail to Sicily.

Our dear friends Lorenzo and Mabi live in Sardinia for most of the year. We met them on the ARC/ Atlantic crossing as they have the same boat as us.
I can recall sitting with Mabi on a beach in the magnificent Tobago Cays in the Grenadines, Caribbean. I was commenting on the incredible water quality.  Mabi said the only other place she had seen water like it was on her home island of Sardinia........... and whilst the landscape and the sea temperature are very different......... the water is the same.

We spent a calm night at anchor before starting another long voyage to Sicily at 08.00 hrs on 30th June.

love to all
