Hi all,

On 26th July at 11.30 am we left Sami, Kefalonia to head for Vathy the capital of Ithaka.

We motored in light winds and a calm sea for 11n miles before anchoring in a bay called Ormos Filiatrou on the east coast. The turquoise water quality was wonderful and was a new bay for us to explore. We anchored in 11m onto a sandy bottom watching the anchor go all the way to the bottom, something we haven’t seen often since the Caribbean. We swam to a tiny pebbled beach, see photos and under water photos.

Later we headed for Vathy. The afternoon wind increased and we moored on the north shore quay with a nasty cross wind which blew into the evening. The next day we moved across to the town quay near a café owned by a guy called Spiros…….. see photos of Tioram taken from inside the café looking through the window.

I unfortunately don’t have a photo of Spiros, himself…….. but I can tell you that he has a series of T-shirts conveying his thoughts to the world.  In the Greek crisis and…. with heavy ‘taxes’ imposed by the government, Spiros’s T shirt reads……… I don’t need sex, I get f**ked by the government every day !!!!

Love to all
