We lifted anchor from Porto Colom after a very welcome calm nights sleep and motored south along the coast to Rapita bay. The beach is just stunning here, white sand, beach bar and beautiful water quality. The next day on 28th the weather changed to a grey 'English day' but with high humidity and 19 t knots wind from the north moving to SE with the low pressure system passing through. Sadly didn't get to swim. Very uncomfortable side swell all day which made me feel nauseas for most of the day....despite our many sailing miles. A rolly night but with light SE winds, finally we lifted this morning 29th to head along the coast to anchor in Palma Nova bay. This is the first place abroad that I visited for a holiday with Mom Dad and my sister in 1971. Great fond memories of a small child stay with me and the same scent of pine from the hills behind the waterfront resort spills out over the sea to Tioram anchored in the bay......43 years later...mmmmh.
The weather is very changeable at the moment, very hot sun, then very humid and now a thunderstorm..... torrential as they always are in the Med, but moves through quickly and then the hot sun comes out again....unlike the UK.
