13^th Sept.

Today the sky dramatically changed and the mountains of Ithaka darken behind the moored ferry. The anticipation of the storm has sent yachties tying extra lines to their boats, closing hatches and taking in seating and all the summer outdoor stuff.

The wind increased, the sky looked like a torn page from a book….. the menacing black clouds forming a jagged edge of light as the sun was hidden behind a cloud and the mountains….see pics.

The rain came, temperature dropped and a very strong scent of ‘earth’ hung in the air. After an hour it stopped, life resumed and by the following morning, the hot sun was out again and late summer returned.
