After a very calm night at anchor we decided to make an early start on the 29th sept to head south from the island of Levkas to Kefalonia to be ahead of the forecast for strong  southerly winds on 30th. Without any wind overnight the decks were unusually very wet with heavy dew a sign of the late season temperature change.

In flat calm seas we motored out of Vlikho, passing Nidri and headed south through the channel between Levkas and Meganisi.

By 11.30hrs we were sailing between the islands of Levkas and Ithaka picking up wind.

We anchored in Port Polis on the west coast of Ithaka. The deep bay is normally busy in high season and it's necessary to take line to the shore, today we were able to anchor in the middle of the bay.

Fabulous sunshine for late season, warm sea and surrounded by fish.

We lifted anchor and headed south motoring to Ayios Eufimia on Kefalonia mooring stern to the pleasant waterfront town.

The following day we decided to sail out of Ayios Eufimia across Sami bay. The predicted wind kicked in with 14/16 knots of wind later increasing and topping out at 35 knots so we headed back into the harbour to ride out the weather.  Two very different days.

Love to all
