On 23rd June we lifted anchor at 09.30 hrs and motored north east along the beautiful coastline of Ibiza. We kept out of the swell to give Maria and Pepe a better ride.
We have found that our Spanish language is improving quickly.  When below decks Maria and myself have laughed at hearing Tony and Pepe on deck chatting away, Pepe in Spanish, Tony in his 'best' spanish or spanglish and obviously totally understanding one another !!!  It reminds me of the language of 18 month old babies who make different unrecognisable sounds and yet seem to have a perfect conversation----- and so their conversations have been dubbed the 'idioma de bebes' or language of babies.  It seems that between men the word ' cheers' is multi-lingual. Ha !!

At 13.00 hrs we anchoed in a bay called Cala Boix on the east tip of Ibiza, an ideal spot to head off to Mallorca the following day.  The calm anchorage was lovely and we were able to swim to the shore to put our feet on Ibizan soil.
We enjoyed a fun evening together, lots of laughter trying to communicate, our spanglish mixed with gesture and mime for understanding----- other boats must have wondered what we were up to.
That night despite little wind, the swell kicked in and Tioram rocked and rolled like a washing machine--- safe but no sleep had by all on board---'el noche terible'.

And so........ the next morning at 08.00 hrs we were all keen to leave to set off for Mallorca.

love to all
