Hello from Tioram
We have had an interesting 24 hours weather wise.
The wind filled in yesterday afternoon with an ESE so we went in
broadly the right direction fo the first time. Speed was good at over 7 knots.
The Midnight to 4:00 watch had some fun dodging a few squalls and generally
having a good sail. At 4:00 Tina and John took over and ran straight
into what looked like a big squall but turned out to be an extended area of
wind and rain. After reaching 32 knots and several sail changes we finally
decided that the main would have to come down and we continued under jib alone
iations despite an the wrong direction again. The wind stayed high and the seas
built so it was hang on time.
.If Chris Tibbs who
promised 18 knots was on board I would not have given much for his
safety.
The crew however are fine just feeling a little
queasy in the roll. Malte has stopped reading his
book and James has switched to emergency rations despite and excellent shepherds
pie last night. Todays fare is somewhat basic.
So the blog will be a short one today.
Cheers from Tioram
