Tuna catch on the waterfront, Calve, Corsica. 11th August 2016

Hi all,

When we sailed into Calve we saw a large tuna jump out of the sea and so it seems this is the season for tuna.

On the waterfront in Calve a fishing boat had landed a very large tuna and the fisherman sat on the quayside carving the fresh tuna into steaks for local people to buy.

When fish are so large they have an animal like quality and the whole affair was quite bloody….. you see this is the vegetarian in me which stirs when I see such things….only to cave when faced with a succulent fish in a sauce….and I eat it.
