Ormos Foki bay is a tiny inlet just south of Fiskardho. Here you have to drop an anchor and attach mooring lines stern to the rocks or shoreline. The tranquil bay has lovely clear water for swimming and a large cave which is easy to swim inside and get out of the water onto a small internal beach. The passage ways lead through the huge cathedral-like cave and out into the daylight on the hillside directly behind where we were moored.
This gave us a great photo opportunity looking down onto Tioram sitting in the beautiful bay. The boat looks dramatically close to the shore and in the past we would have bulked at the idea of mooring close to a coastline. However, in the Ionian the shorelines are very deep right up to a few metres away.  So with plenty of anchor chain laid at the bow and the choice of position with the wind on a stern or very light cross winds we safely sit in plenty of depth with our own private swimming pool at our stern.
