We lifted anchor from Tranquil bay on Levkas to sail and motor south along the coast of the Island of Meganisi.
On the south east tip there is a set of caves, the largest being Papa Nicolis where it is rumoured by locals to have been the hiding place of a Greek mini-submarine during the Second World War.
The sea outside the caves is too deep to anchor and so we took it in turns to stand off with Tioram in safe water whilst we all visited the inside of the beautiful cave by dinghy.

We continued to sail in 12 knots of hot breeze to the Island of Atokos and One House bay, literally a bay with ‘One House’.  The wind increased and whistled through the gorge so we decided to anchor and go stern to a cutting in the cliff for lunch.  The steep rocks created an aquarian of transparent water and fish.

With the wind increasing we lifted anchor and sailed in 20 plus knots with white heads forming on the sea, one tack to Ithaca, where we found shelter for a nice evening and calm overnight in Skhoinos bay.

The next morning 31st July we lifted anchor at 08.00 hrs to motor the short distance to Fiskardo on the Island of Kefalonia.   Fiskardo is a very beautiful town, untouched by the 1953 earthquake complete with Venetian buildings now converted into trendy bars and restaurants.

We found a great spot stern to the taverna's.  Fiskardo is a lovely mixture of chic shops, bars, restaurants and has a nice beach to swim just a short walk from the harbour.
We enjoyed two lovely days there until Carol, Pat, Alex and Imogen sadly left for the airport on 2nd August---- and a little piece of ‘home’ left with them.

Love to all
