We slipped our lines from the waterfront quay at Vathy, Ithaca at 10.45 hrs to sail the 19 n miles to Ormos Kolopoulou on the island of Meganisi.

The wind direction and true speed of 13 knots was perfect to sail all of the way.  Tioram creamed along with increasing wind speed and a very slight sea. The girls, Carol and Imogen enjoyed sitting on the foredeck and side decks occasionally getting spray and small waves over them in their bikinis--- great fun and exhilarating as Tioram feels even faster when you sit near the water.
Sadly no dolphins came to play, but the view of the islands of Ithaca, Meganisi, Atokos and Levkas in one glance is quite stunning. These islands have great majestic scale with their mountains steeply soaring out of the sea. Again the land of Homer and the sea of ‘Jason and the Argonauts’.

Pat helmed all the way,  a man in his groove as the boat stormed along on one tack.
At 14.30 hrs we were safely anchored and tied stern to the rocks---- Tony swimming to the shore again with long lines whilst Pat and myself secured the boat.

We enjoyed a nice afternoon swimming, BBQ and calm overnight.

Love to all

Tina, Tony, Carol, Pat, Alex and Imogen. x x x
