We motor sailed the 39 nautical miles in light winds from the bay of Kalamaki, Aegean, through the Corinthian canal to Galaxidhi on the north shore of the Gulf of Corinth.

It was great to sail into the delightful harbour again---- we previously visited on 6th June.

We enjoyed  a nice evening on board and on 6th Sept we explored the town with Jackie and John. We visited the maritime museum---Galaxidhi has a long history of boat building and merchant shipping in the tiny port.

One of the joys of mooring to the quay is the rush to plug into electricity and water---very sad we know--- but it means we get aircon and the washing machine.
So if the power trips out--- its a crisis of course !!!

So it tripped and I rushed off to speak to a local guy who promptly pulled me off into a restaurant----he didn't speak English.   Before I knew it, I was offered a chair at their table, given a drink and found myself sitting with the two old guys chatting about life in Galaxidhi and they were interested in our travelling-----whilst the music of Beethoven, Bach, Ravel, Pavarotti and Acker Bilk poured out around us-----fab atmosphere.

And so the electricity got put back on and 30 minutes later Tony came to see if I’d been kidnapped !!! He was promptly offered a beer and so the conversation continued about how--- ‘all words in all languages’-- are derived from the Greek language---- just like the father in ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’.

We had such a good time that we returned later with Jackie and John to enjoy a traditional lunch.
