Hi Everyone,

The wind dropped for the last twenty four hours of our journey and whilst that meant we were motoring it did give us a tranquil sea. At  00.10 hrs this morning we picked up our first radar fix and confirmed land ho-- the tip of Zakinthos, 28 n miles.
We approached as the light came up to dawn with a misty morning as we neared the island--- motoring around the south coast was grand.
The courtesy flag went up, still prestine after 15 years and we watched the coastline, marvelled at seeing the seabed in 12 metres of clear still waters. The coastline is so green it could have been Switzerland.

Approaching Zakinthos port at 10.15hrs was a treat and from the sea the town looked even nicer than we remembered it.

So we anchored 'stern to' just as a couple went by on a scooter--- honestly its true ( see previous blog ).

We have scrubbed the boat top to bottom for a few hours now,  really hard work-- as we had three pink rainfalls of sand/soil from the sahara before we left Malta-----the boat looked like it was glazed with a pink glow.

So now we are off to explore the land of blue and white houses, white pebbled beaches, feta, souvlaki, ouzo and ......... Shirley Valentine.

Wow !!! We can't believe it we feel so-o-o lucky.

Love to all
