This must be the shortest ever trip – just 1.5nm including pottering about for an hour waiting for a berth to become available!  The Riviera continues to surprise us with modestly priced ports backed by attractive towns which are not entirely overdeveloped or devoid of atmosphere.  I (D) was expecting the worse of Cannes, having been here on business many years ago in not very pleasant circumstances: in fact it’s a delight, with a picturesque setting for the old port and older parts of town.  The place is also famous for its beautiful people – but we are self sufficient in most things…
