Before moving on we wanted to share with you some views of lovely Paxos.  We had some great walks (and runs) around the island, covering over 11 miles on one day to see the other 2 ports in the north & east of the island.  The countryside is full of wildflowers and a riot of colour.  The whole island is covered in ancient, gnarled olive trees, left to their own devices rather than neatly pruned as in much of Crete.   Some of the coast is difficult to access and, with no signs in evidence, you have to take pot luck with roads that become lanes that become footpaths, and if you are very lucky, lead to stunning cliff-top views:

All good things must come to an end though, and after 5 days we left this gorgeous spot, as the town quay was becoming crowded by our out-of-season standard.  In other words, there were 3 other visiting yachts!
