Zakinthos

An early start for us (8:30), and virtually no wind until we got south of Kefallonia, so quite a lot of motor-sailing, followed by a lively reach down to Zakinthos (a lovely sailing direction, fast and fun).  Unfortunately this meant our entry into harbour was accompanied by brisk side winds, blowing us off course before we could attempt the infamous “Mediterranean moor” (see earlier description – v. fast reversing into v. narrow gap between expensive boats!).  After dillying around for a while, we finally got in during a lull, with no damage!

This is not a very prepossessing place to visit – why is the harbour so busy with yachts, other than to meet flights?
