Cala di Volpe
On Sunday afternoon we were joined by Hugh & Alison (D’s brother & wife) who were staying with us for 6 days – we had previously moved into the nearby yacht club marina earlier in the day to use their facilities before heading out to cruise a little of the famous Costa Smeralda. We had a leisurely sail on Monday and after a mere 17 miles, anchored in a lovely bay called “Cala di Volpe” where we debated whether the waters really qualified as emerald (as in ‘smeralda’) or were just a wonderful turquoise. Either way the water was very enticing, and at almost 22C and incredibly clear it qualified as a good place to have our first swim of the year. We then had a very enjoyable and peaceful night gently bobbing around and admiring the extremely elegant villas on the opposite shore.
