We had our first bit of rain since getting to the Med on Saturday, then, waiting for Sally & Chris in Alicante on Sunday, the heavens opened – a real thunderstorm with 30kt winds.  Of course I’d just washed & dried the boat…   So after meeting S&C in the evening, we spent the following morning shopping (a great market in Alicante), then anchored off the beach to swim & lunch, and headed here for the night.  I was convinced we’d have perfect shelter from the forecast winds, but after outrunning one thunderstorm, we got caught by another and squeezed between 2 more later.  The result was high winds from the wrong direction and swell enough to make sleep impossible (boat rolling 30 degrees+).  By midnight we’d had enough so headed off for another mooring around the corner – exposed to the prevailing wind but out of the swell.  A bit stressful for the skipper, but only 30 mins later we were safely moored up again.
