Serifos - O. Koutoula
We stopped here overnight to break journey en route to Milos. The huge bay offers great shelter, but it’s not very pretty being a bit of an industrial archaeology site really, with the remains of several former iron ore mines. It has its own grandeur though and the hillsides were once heavily farmed too.
I must mention the most amazing live shell I found under the boat at the last anchorage (Kithnos). It was a huge marine snail, almost too heavy to lift out of the water with one hand. I failed to find out what it was on the internet – any ideas anyone?
