The moon shines on the bay as night fell and quietness settled on Magic Friday. A good night's sleep to awake for a bright start. Mooring slipped in the dawn light followed by a motor-sail down an unusually calm Buzzard Bay, watching trawlers of all sizes cross the bay.

Decisions to make as to whether to sail on to Cape May - arrival sometime Monday or stay overnight in the Great Salt Pond of Block Island. Course set for Cape May, but as the wind freshened and average 6 knots seemed very plausible, which could have resulted in too early an arrival on Monday before light. So, a late change of decision to head for the Block Island northerly waypoint and overnight anchor in the Great Salt Pond! Water-maker tested, topping up the tanks at 70litres/hr.

Anchor dropped and set an hour before sun-set. BBq lit, sundowners and dinner prepared for a very pleasant evening - candle lit under the stars! Naturally followed by the penultimate episode of "Hornblower"!
