Day 1 - Atlantic : Bermuda-East Coast
We are off to good start – leaving St George Bay at just after 11:00. Full water and diesel . Unfortunately not so on propane as the only re-filling company on the island are closed at weekends(!) – still probably sufficient for the passage – with plenty of cold food alternatives! Although initially some heavy seas (9-15 ft), a heavy rain storm and strong NW winds – progress away from Bermuda has been good. Taking a more southerly route – heading west (to avoid even heavier seas to the north) and knowing we can take advantage of the Gulf Stream to edge northwards some time later. Night approaches to end the first day – no sunset and no sundowners as we all adjust to life at sea! Phil, Di and Piko.
