Another very hot day - another job to do....this time the windlass (anchor hauling mechanism) - new motor ready to install. But first a 6+ mile run over the bridges to Hutchinson Island - before the sun starts to beat down - enjoying tranquil views over the iner-coastal waterway! Then to the job at hand - that is under a sun shade! Gears out, old motor extracted and new one in place...electric connections made via the cabin hatchway cut earlier...and the big moment : will it work...we have a working windlass again - no more manual "weighing the anchor"!! Thank goodnewss! Time for a "congratulations" skype with the daughter and a swim in the marina pool - perfect temperature! More lightening far off....as the sun sets peacefully over the masts in the marina.
