Another try at reserving a transient slip at the Miami Beach marina - yes there would be a place BUT at $7/ft....almost twice the rate as Atlantis in Nassau and with fewer facilities - no thanks! We'll give Miami a miss! Decision to stay on a day or two more - depending on how the winds and a forecast thunderstorm develop on Friday.
A chance to catch up on paperwork, at last finalise the "C" insurance as Fastnet Insurance Servcies came through (backed by Allianz) very promptly - cover issued, documents received and payment in the post - great! Personal health insurance also secured and we are now good to go - that is, when we are in postion off the Florida Keys to do so!
Weather may keep us in Fort Lauderdale a little longer - but with a beautiful beach one block away, plenty of bars and restaurants - who is complaining? Perhaps just a longer sail to catch up on our passage position.
