An early start to make our final destination in daylight : Fort Lauderdale. Motor sailing close to the shore to avoid as much of the Gulf Stream current as possible. Passing Palm Beach Resort where we have stayed before. The afternoon sun bought a flat calm to the sea - we passed time watching sail jellyfish drifting by, avoiding cargo vessels waiting off Fort Lauderdale entrance, mega-yachts cruising by and parasail speed boats! Eventually into the inlet, towards 17th Street bascule bridge - opening for us to pass and into the narrow inlets of Fort Lauderdale - lined with luxurious mansions. Passing a sailing school of "little-uns" and into the Hall of Fame marina along with other mega-yachts - Magic Friday tied up safely, just one block from the beachfront - perfect!
