Planning on a mid-afternoon departure afforded us a morning exploring more of Cape Canaveral. This time a short bike and run to Lock Canaveral - not able to get up close as with all waterway systems in the U.S. it is managed by the U.S. Army Corps - so no entry! Nevertheless, the quite, scenic route overlooking the mangroves along the Banana River lagoon and a stalk unperturbed by our presence was a pleasant start to the day.

Afternoon departure, just slipping out of the Port Canaveral channel before the cruise liners departed - one after the other - a procession of 4 mega cruise liners en-route tot eh Bahamas and the Turks and Cacaos - glad to be out of their way!

As evening drew in, the wind died, back to motor-sailing into the night with another short spell of wind power later in the evening. No moon but still reasonably bright - light by millions of stars and planets - more star gazing and watching Jupiter (the brightest planet) - track east to west across the sky as the night progressed and we silently slipped along the coastline heading south.....
