Decision made - we were to attempt the southerly route on the ICW - the difficult location (for depth) would be Sebastian Inlet - but that would not be until tomorrow.
So, haul the anchor we did, ready for an easy, short trip down to Melbourne for another overnight anchorage. We motored leisurely along the wide bay of Indian River (although narrow ICW channel) with reasonable depth and under three 65ft bridges and several wreckages along the way. A chill wind called for body wamers each. Passed by a fellow sailor (French) - close enough to be hailed - we heard a "Europe" call ... (well, we refrained from answering "Brexit") and instead exchanged a few pleasant words - they were on their way to Vero Beach and had to move along faster. Instead, we pulled off the ICW south of the small town of Melbourne (yes - apparently named by an Australian) for an early afternoon anchorage, ready for a long day tomorrow. Winds gusting up to 20+knotss (forecast 24-25 knots) - the "prudent mariner" decided to set the second anchor as well for hopefully a comfortable night ahead in Indian River.
