The day starts well - a phone call from the shipping company (in Jacksonville) - they will be delivering the starter battery in a few hours - great! Sure enough - two hours later the biggest articulated tractor/trailer is pulling up dockside! Battery loaded onto the boat and ready to fit. Checked for any voltages or amperage drain on the connectors before installing the battery - nothing - although there is a lead for the engine sensor taken from the positive - could this be a battery drain problem (still pondering on this I am). Not quite the same struggle as removing the old, connect up, 12.4v residual charge, start the engine - first time - perfect! Will check the charge / starting capacity over the next day or so before setting off.

Or not setting off .... strong winds and a cold weather storm across the east coast - looks like we will be "wow" (waiting-on-weather) instead of "wob" for the next day or so.

No matter, some more provisioning, a book purchase for Di and a few minor jobs around the boat. Time spent watching the pelican and a heron fishing amongst the salt marshes on the ebbing tide and an evening out to the "Oyster Bar" on St Simmons Island. Good food and conversations with folks sitting at the bar.

A good day all round.
