Final preparations and checks - included a traditional trip up the mast to check shackles and investigate the seaming light mal-function. A helping hand from Joe (a fellow Moody owner - one of the few on the East Coast) assisted Di in my raising and lowering up and down the mast ("Juels" seen from the masthead on our dock). Some difficulty in removing the cover plate to the steaming light (the small screw head facing the bow was not obvious) with result of a broken lug! Nevertheless, the bulb was retrieved, another trip up to repair the broken lug and then a visit to the local chandler -West Marine. Ouch . almost the most expensive bulb in the shop (there was one other)! Back up the mast - fitted, cover plate replaced (glued and sealed) and another job off the list (unless the cover plate comes off at sea)! Water tanks topped up, diesel containers filled, engine checked (starter battery a little temperamental in turning the engine over but it did start eventually) and we are ready to go! A pleasant evening at the "Marshide Grill" chatting to locals and fellow travelers at the bar rounded off the day.
