Male anchoring techniques.

It is the
end of April and the SW Monsoon is a month late. There is no wind here. I want to go to the Chagos Islands but that
would involve 600 miles of motoring. 600
miles gets me half way to Sumatra. And
anyway I only have a motoring range of 300 miles. And my Maldives visa is about to expire. It can be extended but as I have already
spent US$ 1,500 on clearance fees I am disinclined to spend more.
The
anchorage here is interesting with the tourist boats deploying as many as five
anchors at a time in an effort to squeeze in.
But when the wind suddenly turned east against expectations they had fun
and games.
But for many
reasons I have decided to head back east.
I will have some current with me and a little wind so with lots of food
I can do a slow passage. Not that I have
much choice in the matter of speed…
