With great difficulty I manage to get a flight on Sunday. The taxi is 15 minutes late despite it being an airport run; nobody cares. In the meantime I digest my final giant breakfast noting that I can walk normally again if at no great a distance. The plane is on time; I arrive at the main docks and get a fisherman to ferry me out to Wild Fox who is riding quietly at anchor.

I move a couple of miles to an anchorage off a resort where friends will be. An early night but not before gently re-introducing my body to Bintang. Next night there is a free dinner with boring speeches in English. I think I prefer them in Indonesian. No uniforms except for the head chef. If it had not been for the tall chef's hat over the gold braid and white gloves you would have thought him an army general! But the food is wonderful.

We have our first suspected case of Malaria, but it turns out to be ecoli poisoning. And another spider bite a few miles north on Smart Choice.

I am still weak and decide to miss the Komodo Dragons which are the big feature here. I will just have to make do with internet pictures of these three metre carnivores. Anyway, they can neither fly nor breathe fire. What a swizz....
