There is still no wind but lots of thunderstorms. So no shortage of water. After leaving Kukup Island I find that at about the time I would be stopping for the night that I have good current with me and a completely flat sea and no wind at all - ideal motoring conditions. So I continue on for a boring night trip. There are not many fishing boats about but there are enough to make it necessary to keep a constant watch. And, as always, there are tugs towing barges.

In the early morning I can see on my AIS lots of friends leaving Port Dickson the party having happened the night before. I am sorry to miss them but now there will be space in the marina for me.

At 0830 I tie up to a marina berth, my first in four months. There is electricity and water ("safe to drink after boiling, captain"). The marina is part of an hotel and conference centre complex. What a contrast to Indonesia; proper flush toilets and not a hole in the ground you squat over...

There are still some friends here. I decide to stay a few days to chill out. There is even a Tescos! A supermarket where you can actually buy something other than dried fish. They have bacon. Cannot remember the last time I saw that. My Muslim checkout operator picked up the packet by the meerist corner with her very fingertips and was disappointed to see three more packets below. BLISS...
