The three
companies that fly out to Everest have a good system. At the airport they do not know how clear the
weather will be in the mountains. First
up reports back. If it is all clear the
next two follow. If you arrive and
Everest has, in the meantime, clouded in you don’t pay. Earlier this year there
were 23 consecutive days when the ‘planes did not fly. So we were lucky.
Some are not
so lucky. Nepalese ‘planes have a
dreadful safety record. But I went up
anyway and was disappointed that she could not land on the summit. Women drivers! I ask you…
