World Peace Pagoda and Cremations

We read some wise words as we approach the World Peace Pagoda.  An ambitious thought but why not give it a try.  As always some beautiful inlaid statues of Buddha.


Then to an amazing Hindu enclave where they have open air cremations.  The body of the deceased is carried around the temple three times in a clockwise direction and then brought down to the holy river.  There its feet are dipped in the water and then cremated on an open wooden fire.  The temple provides the wood – four kilos of wood for every kilo of body weight.  So somebody has had a calculator out.  The cremation takes about two and a half hours and then the ashes are spread on the river.
