Great Keppel

It was an overnight passage to Great Keppel passing, on the way, Cape Capricorn.  So once again I am back into the "true" tropics.  The anchorage is beautiful, the beaches stunning. I have a walk ashore and meet Carl, the only resident on the island.  He explains that we are safe from the resort at the other end of the island as their guests never venture out.  The walking tracks which he maintains are good but the wonder is all of the stones placed along the way with little poems on them.  I am going to be here for a while as yet another weather system passes through.

What with weather and electronics I am now a little behind schedule reducing the time I can have in the Whitsunday's.  But I can make up some time by doing overnight trips instead of stopping in some anchorages just to sleep. But next I have to go to Mackay to print off all of the paperwork for my Indonesian visa and get it off to Sydney.  For some reason this has to be done by conventional post.

In the meantime the wind is howling but nice sunshine.  A boat, first met in the Galapagos two years ago, has just anchored beside me.  Dinner on them tonight...
