Arriving back on the main island from Tasmania it is 80 kilometers from Apollo Bay to the 12 Apostles. On Maria Island the 12 Apostles are not rocks but trees and number eight in total. After three day's of walking I discover that the 12 Apostle Rocks also number eight. Is this an Aussie thing? After the walk a couple of us go for a beer. "Two beers please". "That will be 12 dollars". I offer the barman eight dollars. This Aussie thing only goes so far...

The accomodation and food along the walk are fantastic (eh, it should be at the price). The walk itself is good but, although called the Great Ocen Walk, much of it is through forest and undergrowth. At the end there 75 million Chinese tourists all making GoPro videos using drones. If this lot ever get cross we don't stand a chance!
