The wind has been very light and variable. Unlike the rain which has been heavy and dependable. Every night; so great sleep disturbance as the rain squalls give very strong and fluky winds. So with wind vane self steering I have been weaving around the ocean and basically writing my name with my wake. But now that I am out of the influence of the Thai Peninsula I am hoping that the NE Trades will hold. Which means steady winds. And violent thunderstorms.
We all knew (ie the boat in front and then one behind) that there would be a light wind risk leaving so early in January. But I have got things to do in India. And beyond. I am conserving fuel for the stage from Sri Lanka to India where there are huge swathes of zero wind. I am at the same spot I was on 31st January last year but it has taken two more days to get here. But with a lot less motoring.
Heading west, most of the time...
