When Wild Fox heard that I was going off on holiday for six weeks or so and that I would be camping for part of the time she wanted to come along too. But she would not fit into my little tent; much less my little car.  So I bought her a tent all of her own. Now when it rains we can still work but most days it is too hot to work in the sun so this keeps things cool. The varnish job in Ecuador did not last so there is a lot more to do than I would have planned for this time last year. I employ Dave to do the dusty work and when it all gets to be too much for me I go for a walk on the beach.

My friend Andy decided to fit a new engine.  The photograph was taken at exactly the time he discovered that it would not come out without some reconstruction work.  Boats will be boats!

Things are moving along well and soon I will see an end to the work and will be able to make some travel bookings. Three three day hikes (tramps they are called in NZ), a visit to Stewart Island, a glacier ot two, more lakes than you could shake a stick at and, of course, much wine tasting. I have volunteered to do work for the Department of Conservation and they have accepted me for work on a mansion on Kawau Island.

But now for some more sandpapering...
