Bundaberg stop over

You could be forgiven for not having heard of Bundaberg Rum.  96% of the output is drunk by the Aussies, 3% by the Kiwis leaving just 1% for the rest of the world.  Less now that I have had a dig at the stocks.  The distillery is interesting but no photographs.  Anything with a battery in it is banned; even watches.  One spark and 6 millions litres of rum go up causing a fire so great that the world would be engulfed ending mankind.  Now, we don't want that, do we? The whole place looks like it is falling apart but inside it is very hi-tech the entire distillery being run by just 50 people.

I also visit a famous ginger beer factory and a turtle hatchery but the turtles are out of season and I will have to return at another time to shoot them.

I have hired a yute, a kind of flat backed thing popular with tradesmen.  Tough as hell as I am soon to find out when a young girl backs into me.  Yute damage nil, girlie distraught.

The farmer's market is good and I am glad to have stayed in the marina when gale force wind pipe through.  The island anchorages would have been far from comfortable. But leave on Monday I will...
