New Delhi

I arrive in Delhi after a very early start and my pick up car has not turned up.  When I get to the hotel the wifi does not work and my electronic key card fails and we cannot use the pool as it is set aside for a private party.   All parcels with UPS, Fedex and DHL are stuck in the mud.  This is India.

Our group meets up, all goes well except the restaurant has forgotten about our dinner booking for 14.  Next day we go on a city walk led by a young girl called Anny (second name Anthony). She is a rescued street child, speaks perfect conversational English (taught by the rescue centre) and is intelligent and well adjusted.  She does not know where she is from, thinks she was maybe nine when first rescued and doctors now guess her age at 14 or 15.

Litter everywhere; huge amounts of it.  We go to a massive mosque then to a Sikh temple which is as colourful as it is cheerful.  Downstairs a small army of volunteers prepare free food for the needy.  Of which there is no shortage.

This is India…
