Photographs when I get to Port Dickson; basically my internet died.

Tanjung Pinang is the last rally stop. All of the officials we need to clear out of the country are here. It is a bit of a dump of a town and, like all Indonesian towns it is filthy. Litter everywhere.

The farewell dinner is good fun with lots of impromptu acts and songs. Everyone seems happy but at that stage we did not know what was ahead of us for the outward clearance. And I did not know that I was to have a broken engine. The trip to Singapore was a success. The ferry was fast and on time. The MRT train was clean and fast. But best of all was Patrick Yam at the Yanmar dealership. He had my part (with ancillary other bits) waiting for me. The best service I have ever had from a parts department.

Next day we hear on the SSB one wife fell down the companionway steps and has a very badly broken leg. But having cleared out again I am coast hopping until I have a clear shot at the Straits and then up the west side of Malaysia to Port Dickson; another country for Wild Fox. About the 45th, I think...

I head off on 14th November, cross to Singapore a day early as I did not like my anchorage on the Indonesian side. It is not that there are a lot of ships here. There are more than I knew existed in the world. On 16th I have to steer through them. There is heavy rain with visibility down to very little. After an thoroughly challenging morning I anchor behind a fish farm in Malaysia. 120 miles to Port Dickson.
