Well, at 1900 GMT on 5th April I was at 05 49s 098 02W with about 2,500 nm to go. There was once a time when I was up to high doe because today is the last day of the tax year; now I do not give a dam!

My SSB radio is receiving OK but it refuses to transmit. So I can hear people on the radio net but I cannot talk to them. Hope it keeps sending email, if it stops then there will be no more reports before I get to the Marquesas.

Bright and sunny, trade winds blowing, calm seas. Just what the doctor ordered, so far. No whales or dolphins and no ships but not feeling the least bit lonely as the sailing, cooking and reading are all good although my wholemeal flour has gone off. So white bread only from now on. For the next few days the forecast looks good, following winds of 12 to 15 knots. At last I have now picked up a favorable current and made good 123 NM in the last 24 hours. No record but Wild Fox was pleased with herself. With an average boat speed through the water over a 24 hour period of about 4.5 knots the water generator gives enough power to run the fridge during the day and then essential radar and AIS alarms at night.

That's all for now.
