Apart from the welcome ceremony the craic was great but it is time to move on. I head 10 miles to the beauitful anchorage of Kroko, then, next morning head off again. I pause at a lovely atoll, arrive in the early afternoon at a rally recommended anchorage which in untenable. I look at three more which are no better and decide to sail overnight to the next destination of Maumere. It is a nice trip except that the wind disappeared at 2100 which left me motoring through the night. No sleep; too many wooden fishing boats but a full moon.

12 boats have arrived ahead of me. Like many anchorages here this one is a challenge. I drop anchor in 10 metres and as the boat falls back on its chain it is in 25 metres. The wind changes through 180 degrees and I am in five metres. Steeply shelving or what?

The resort (lowkey) on the beach is a charity with its profits funding local schools. So the more beer I drink the more good I do. I am off to do lots of good...
