June 25th. Another day, another sail.
This was sailing frenzy day 10? 11? It's all become a blur...
10 hours, 60 miles. Perfect wind aside
from a few hours of light breeze in the beginning that caused a wee bit of
motoring. We moved from one deep bay on the Cobourg Peninsula to another
one - all in an effort to position ourselves properly for the final run to
Darwin.
Picture 1 - We arrived in Berkley Bay a few hours
before Storyteller because they had taken a detour to a spot further south
in the Wessel Islands a day or two before. We reunited when Storyteller
motored into peaceful Berkley Bay just as the sun set and the full moon
rose. We chatted as they slid by in the still water. Sue, John and
Ray were on the bow while Helen snapped pictures.
Picture 2 - One of Helen's pictures taken at
exactly the same time as the one above, facing the leftover twilight instead of
the advancing night. This is what we do on boats when there is nothing
else happening to entertain us. We stare at each other, chat to each
other and snap pictures of each other.
